Kitab kuning, in Islamic religious education, refers to traditional books that contain Islamic studies (diraasah al-Islamiyyah) which are taught at Islamic Boarding Schools, starting from fiqh, aqeedah, akhlaq / tasawuf, Arabic grammar (` nahwu science and `science sharf), hadith, interpretation, 'ulumul qur'aan, to social and social sciences (mu`amalah). It is also known as a bald book because it does not have a charity (fathah, kasrah, dhammah, breadfruit), unlike the Qur'an.
