Saheeh Hadith is a hadith whose sanad is continued, narrated by narrators who are of good quality and not weak in memorization, there are no syadz and illat in the sanad and matan. Mahmud Thahan in Taisir Musthalah Hadis explains saheeh hadith is:

ما اتصل سنده بنقل العدل الظابط عن مثله إلى منتهاه من غير شذوذ ولا علة

"Every hadith whose series of sanads continues, is narrated by just narrators and dhabit from the beginning to the end of the sanad, not in it syadz and‘ illah. "

Judging from the definition above, there are five criteria for authentic hadith that must be considered. Similarly, when you want to know whether the hadith that we read or hear is valid or not, the five criteria are the main guide. If the five criteria are in a hadith, then the hadith is authentic. If there is no one of them means dhaif traditions.

As Mahmud al-Thahan explained in the Taisir Musthalah Hadith, the five criteria are:

- Sanad's connection
- Fair narrators
- Strong narrator memorization
- There is no Syadz
- There is no ah illah

Those are the five criteria that need to be considered when testing whether a hadith is authentic or not.
