Riyadhus Shalihin is a Collection of Hadith Books from the Prophet. This book was compiled by al-Imam al-Allamah Abu Zakaria Muhyiddin bin Syaraf an-Nawawi ad-Dimasyqi, or better known as Imam Nawawi. A great scholar Expert Hadith that is recognized by all Islamic scholars from time to time.

The book Riyadhus Shalihin contains hadiths, taken from famous Hadith Scriptures such as Bukhari, Muslim, Tirmidhi, Abu Daud, Ibn Majah, An-Nasa'i, and Ahmad. Imam Nawawi himself was determined to avoid the Hadiths which he said were Dhaif.

First, fill in the contents that contain guidance that can organize and grow the soul and give birth to a great power to decorate with worship which is the purpose of creating the soul and deliver it to happiness and goodness, because this book generally includes Targhib and Tarhib and the needs of a Muslim in matters religion, world and the hereafter. This book is a good book of tarbiyah (coaching) that touches various aspects of individual (private) and social life with uslub (explanation method) which is easily clear again which can be understood by special and lay people.

In this book the author takes the material from reliable Sunnah books such as Shohih al-Bukhoriy, Muslim, Abu Daud, An Nasaa'i, At Tirmidziy, Ibn Majah and others. He promised not to include it in his book except for the hadiths that were shohih and he also fulfilled it so that there was no weak hadith except for a little of that, it was also possible in his view and knowledge that he was shohih.

Second, the high scientific position possessed by the author Riyadhush Salihin is among the scholars of his time because of the breadth of his knowledge and the depth of his understanding of the sunnah of the Prophet.

The book Riyadhush Shalihin has features that the book does not have other than the books of the Sunnah and it is truly provision for the counselor, the jewel for those who receive advice, the lamp for those who take instructions and the garden of the people of prayer. This is the reason for getting a high position among scholars so that they give direction, comment and teach it in their halaqoh.

Finally, it cannot be denied, this book is the most widely spread and owned book so that its fame has skyrocketed and gained a high position among special and lay people, and enough (as proof) generally mosques make it as reading material which is read to makmum after prayer or before.

Imam Nawawi gave privileges in orderly and making discussion chapters, he divided them into several books and these books were divided into chapters and then made the book as the title for the hadiths in many chapters of one type and made the chapter as the title for a group of hadith which shows one particular problem.
