Al-Afasy's full name is Shaikh Mishary Rashid Ghareeb Mohammed Rashid Al-Afasy is a munsyid, hafiz and Kuwaiti nationalist imam. He very often leads Tarawih prayers in the UAE and other neighboring countries in the Gulf In 2007, he visited two mosques in the United States: the Irvine Islamic Center (ICOI) in California and the Detroit Islamic Center (ICD) in Michigan.
