With the neolexon app, children with articulation disorders / pronunciation disorders (phonetic and phonological disorders) can practice at home with a lot of fun. It offers motivating self-training as a supplement to regular speech therapy or can be used in the therapy session. The app is registered as a medical device and complies with all data protection guidelines.

In the app, the therapist sets the sounds and sound combinations to be practiced individually for the child (optionally also substitute sounds and sounds to be excluded). With around 860 child-friendly words and over 1,500 pseudo-words, the entire sound inventory is available to choose from.

The words can be trained in five exercise modules for the auditory identification of sounds and their position in the word as well as for the production of the sounds (initial, medial and final) in words as well as on sentence and text level. The words and stories produced are recorded on the tablet and saved in an adventure book in the app. In this way, the therapist and the child can listen to the recordings in the next therapy session and provide feedback.

The neolexon app for articulation disorders was developed by speech therapists, game designers and illustrators and offers a motivating learning environment for the child. The exercises are designed as animated games, e.g. the parrot Kiki must be taught to speak by saying many words to him and he parroting them.

To increase motivation, the child can win medals in the app if they practice diligently. There is also the option of personalizing the main character Lino by unlocking new clothes, hairstyles and disguises through diligent practice.

Library module - identify sounds at word level:
There is an urgent need to clean up a magical library. Lots of leaves with different things on them are flying around and need to be sorted. The magic book only likes words that contain a certain sound (e.g. / s / in cup).

Cable car module - identify sound position at word level:
Lino has to clear the cable car properly so that she can deliver to the hut on the mountain. To do this, sounds in the word have to be heard correctly and the packages sorted accordingly.

Parrot module - sound production at word level:
Kiki the parrot can learn to speak by having the child speak many words to him and parrot them. The speech therapist can then check whether the child has spoken and recorded everything correctly.

Camera module - sound identification and production:
The child should use his device camera to take pictures of things in his everyday life that contain a certain sound, then speak and record it. All recordings are saved in the adventure book and can then be listened to and rated by the speech therapist.

Grandfather module - sound production on sentence / text level:
Lino took a lot of photos on his travels and told his grandfather little nonsense stories about them.
