As an effort to achieve the Sinjai District Government mission and the vision of the Sinjai District Education Office, the Indonesian Teachers Association (IGI) organization is a forum that can help the Sinjai District government realize its mission and can even become a catalyst for achieving the Sinjai Education Office's vision by improving and introducing innovation to teacher with the principle of sharing and growing together.
"Teachers are professional educators with the main task of educating, teaching, guiding, directing, training, evaluating, and evaluating students in early childhood education, formal education, basic education and secondary education (Law No. 14 of 2005, Chapter I Article 1)
The existence of competent and professional teachers is one of the requirements that must be fulfilled in order to improve the quality of education in Indonesia in order to compete with other developed countries. Almost all nations in the world always develop policies that encourage the creation of competent and quality teachers.
One indicator of professional and competent teachers is teachers who are able to adapt to scientific developments which are increasingly sophisticated and connected. In addition, teachers who are professional and competent must also be able to apply learning models and methods based on the demands of the time and needs of students. The application of this pattern will create a pleasant atmosphere in learning, happiness in teaching, which in turn will result in a quality teaching and learning process (quality learning activities) including students who excel and have character.
Along with the rapid development of science and technology triggered by the industrial revolution 4.0, especially in the fields of Information, Communication and Technology (ICT), it has made it easier for students to explore the disciplines of interest, and also facilitate teachers in delivering knowledge because of the availability of sophisticated facilities. The internet is everywhere, the learning space is no longer classed by class, but it is capable of distance learning, and learning everywhere. Should the teacher still be loyal to the old pattern?
It's time for the teacher to change! Changing thinking patterns, changing teaching models and strategies, changing media and teaching materials, even teachers must be able to design ICT-based self-learning media. With these changes it is expected: Students learn more fun, teaching material is digested faster because using suitable media and teaching materials, teachers will more quickly complete all their teacher assignments because they have mastered the sophistication of ICT / IT.
Therefore, the Sinjai district Indonesian Teachers Association (IGI) as one of the teaching profession organizations is very concerned about the quality of teachers, especially in increasing competence and professionalism. Dozens of IGI programs and activities that have been implemented in various cities are a real form of IGI's concern in order to help the government to educate teachers, so that teachers are smart, students are smart, intelligent and morally
Therefore, to provide a deep understanding to the teachers, especially those related to the use of IT as a media for learning, teaching and developing their careers, especially in making ISBN books, IGI Sinjai Regency intends to hold a National Education workshop with the theme: "Macca Teachers Collaboration ";
