Resistor Calculator Section

Two-way conversion
Calculate resistor values by selecting its band colours on the grid. You can also get the colour bands of the desired resistor value by typing its value in ohms in the top-right corner.

Support 4 bands and 5 bands.
Tap on the resistor to switch between 4 and 5 bands.

Resistor Types supported
Only 4-bands resistors with a clear background colour are supported.

Resistor Placement
· Make sure only 1 resistor is inside the square.
· Place the resistor HORIZONTALLY inside the blue square with the tolerance on the
RIGHT on a white background (a sheet of paper will do the job).
· Use the zoom bar to make the resistor as big as possible.
· The bigger the resistor is, the better the app will be able to determine the colour bands.

Auto-focus
The camera in the app is set to auto-adjust focus by itself. If the focus is bad, simply move the camera a bit farther away from the resistor and use the zoom bar to enlarge the resistor in the square.

Light Conditions
The camera won't do any better than our eyes to identify colours. Therefore light intensity and coloration are really important for colour detection. If the camera flashlight is not being used make sure that:
· Light is white (any other colour won't work)
· There is enough light for the camera to "see" well the resistor
· There are no shadows

Accuracy of the app
Accuracy of the app could vary a great deal depending on:
· Camera resolution
· Lightning conditions
· Background colour (Should be white only)
· Positioning
· Focus
· White balance

I take care of most of those variables. However, positioning, lighting conditions, and resolution will totally depend on the user.

Use "Live" mode and the flash light "ON" for better results.
Always try to follow these tips as thoroughly as possible for the best results.
The app can identify well most of the colours. However, for colours such as WHITE or GRAY the app doesn't do so well. This is something I'm aware of and I plan to improve it in later updates (and hopefully remove the "beta" from the name).
