Ruth Sahanaya or commonly called Uthe is a woman born in Bandung, September 1, 1966. She is the son of a couple Alfares Edward Sahanaya and Matheda David.
Since the childhood Uthe was known to love singing, in 1983, he attended a singing festival, unexpectedly he won first place in the race.
After that, he followed many more competitions to the national level. When he was 20 years old, he moved to Jakarta to develop his career in the music world.
In 1987, Uthe released their first album titled Seputih Kasih and began their careers professionally. Being a newcomer singer is not an easy thing and you feel it yourself. He was never paid at an event held in Semarang because it was canceled.
He cannot claim to see his status as a newcomer singer, so from that experience he continues to work hard to become a professional singer so that he is more valued.
Proving himself to be a professional singer, Uthe released several albums, and participated in singing at international festivals. Among these are the album Unexpected (1989), The Best (1994), Uthe! (1996), Surrender to Jesus (1997), Kasih (1999). He once sang in Greece, and also won the Grand Prix Winner in the Midnight Sun Song Festival in Finland, in 1992.
In 1993, with his talent, Uthe was able to become the first singer to hold a single concert, which was then held by Jay Subyakto and famous composer, Erwin Gutawa.
In 2006 Uthe joined 3 Diva, along with Titi DJ and Krisdayanti, and released two albums entitled All So One and 3 Diva. In 2011, he held his 25th Anniversary concert in a career in the Indonesian music world.
A new breakthrough occurred in 2017. He released a single from his new album titled Rinduku. Of course, being a professional singer made him rewarded with various awards.
His household life was fairly clean. His marriage with Jeffrey Waworuntu in 1994 was blessed with two children named Nadine Emmanuella Waworuntu and Amabel Odellia Waworuntu. They live happily together and away from celebrity gossip.
