Vina grew up in a family of music lovers. Vina's singing talent dropped from the blooded mother Ambon - Manado, Albertine Supit. Since childhood, Vina often moved around the country following the duties of her father, R Panduwinata, as a diplomat. Vina's elementary school period was spent in Bogor and New Delhi, India. He spent his junior high school in Bogor and Wassenaar, the Netherlands. When entering high school, Vina moved to West Germany. There, the eighth child of 10 siblings studied for four years at the Yamaha Music School. Vina also made recordings of singles at record company RCA Hamburg, Germany, namely Java and Single Bar (1978) and Sorry Sorry and Touch Me (1979).

In 1981, this Sundanese-Manado-Ambonese woman returned to Indonesia and met musician Mogi Darusman who was interested in Vina's vocal character and introduced it to various record companies. Finally Jackson Records was interested in making an album for Vina. His first album was under Jackson Records titled Citra Biru (1981). The album which contained the song "Citra Biru" introduced Vina's name in the country music scene.

The second album was released a year later titled Citra Pesona (1982) involving song creators such as Dodo Zakaria, James F Sundah, plus music director Addie M.Sc. The album which began catapulting Vina's name contained songs including "September Cheers", "World Kudamba", "Resah", and "Kasmaran". Citra Ceria's third album (1984) also managed to embrace sympathy with the song "On My Daddy There You", "My World Smiles", and "Among Us". Through his Seagull album (1985), his name is sticking out. The song with the same title on the album becomes the icon itself, as 'Vina the Seagull'.

Outside the album, Vina triumphed at the festival. Three times in a row he got the title of the best performing singer at the National Popular Song Festival. In 1983 he won through the song "Salamku Untuknya" created by Adji Soetama and Irianti Erningpradja. Then "I Step Again" (Santoso Gondowidjojo, 1984), and "Seagulls" (Aryono Huboyo Djati and Iwan Abdulrachman, 1985).

In 1987 Vina remained excellent through the album Kiss My Cheek which contained popular songs such as "Kiss My Cheeks", "Love Letters", "Blue", and "Logic". In the 1990s, Vina remained popular through songs like "Rasa Sayang Ada" in 1991. In 1992 the single "Missing Pearl" came out which was popularized by Ernie Djohan in the late 1960s. Vina also duets with Broery Pesulima through the song "Language of Love". Vina also popularized Loka M Prawiro's song "I Makin Cinta". In fact, the song becomes an advertising jingle for a brand of sticky soap.

After being in the country of music for the past 25 years and spawning dozens of albums, Vina held a Single Concert titled Viva Vina on February 18, 2006. The concert was also attended by celebrities such as Guruh Soekarnoputra, maestro Idris Sardi, Titiek Puspa and diva Malaysia, Sheila Majid , Vina performed 23 songs for 3 hours of performance. In a concert supported by expert conductor, Addie M.Sc., almost all the creators of Vina's songs gathered. Among them are Oddie Agam, Randy Anwar, Aminoto Kosim, James F. Sundah, Deddy Dhukun, Adjie Soetama, and Fariz RM. [1] After successfully holding a single concert, Vina again released the album The Best containing hit songs from 1981-2006. In this album, Vina chose a song titled "Honestly", as the album's single. [2]

Vina's long musical journey was complete when the Indonesian Music Award (AMI) gave a 2006 Lifetime Achievement award. Vina received the award for her dedication and achievements throughout her life that were intended for music. [3] In addition, Vina is currently active as a jury in Indonesia's Got Talent on Indosiar.
