picCAR is a remote control using your tablets touch screen or accelerometer to control a car or a robot through Bluetooth. This apk is based on the Cxem CAR open source project. The user interface has been improved and the hardware for the receiving end has been simplified also: rather than using an Arduino with an additional shield for motor control you would only need a PiKoder as outlined in https://www.pikoder.de/Bluetooth_RC_EN.htm.

With release 1.3 picCAR supports the standard R/C car configuration using one channel for steering and another channel for speed (ESC). A checkbox "Mixing activated" in the app prefs is employed to switch between the
two modes. In order to maintain backwards compatibility the app comes with mixing activated ("tank mode with steering by controlling the speed of the left or right motor").

Release 1.4 did add full support of the fail safe functionality. Please refer to the picCAR web page for more information and a compehensive user's manual.

Release 1.5 implements connecting to the bluetooth transceiver on device name bases and therefore significantly simplifies commissioning of the app.
