This app is made by the Alexandra Institute in connection with Internet Week Denmark and IoT Week 2019.

It is a prototype that illustrates part of the concept "Digital Twin" based on the urban space installations "De Live Beans", which is set up in Aarhus for the occasion.

Digital Twin is a concept that connects a digital model to a physical system, for example. a machine, a vehicle, a production apparatus or an installation. Through sensors, the digital model is constantly informed of the physical system and creates a 1: 1 relationship between the two. This gives a lot of possibilities, for example. it becomes possible 1) to simulate inputs on the digital twin before making changes to the physical system, 2) in context to see real-time data and design models from the physical system, or 3) to interact with the physical system through the digital twin . The latter two possibilities are what we present with this prototype.

It is through Augmented Reality in this app that it is possible to see when someone is sitting on the bench and data "hovering in the cloud" as well as it is possible to change the setting on the LED lamps mounted under the seat, even though the bench does not itself has neither buttons nor interface.

It is a "Digital Twin" in its simplest form, and hopefully this prototype highlights the possibilities of using the concept in larger and more complex systems.
