Tafsir al-Jalalain, the literal meaning: "tafsir dua Jalal" is a famous Qur'anic commentary, originally composed by Jalaluddin al-Mahalli in 1459, and then continued by his pupil Jalaluddin as-Suyuthi in 1505. Kitab this interpretation is generally regarded as a classic Sunni commentary that is widely used as a reference, because it is considered easy to understand and consists of only one volume.
Jalaludin al-Mahalli began the writing of the commentary from the beginning of the Surah Al-Kahf to the end of the Surah An-Naas, after which he interpreted the Surah Al-Fatihah to the end. Al-Mahalli then died before he could continue. Jalaluddin as-Suyuthi then continued, and started from surah Al-Baqarah to surah Al-Isra '. Then he put the interpretation of surah Al-Fatihah at the end of the previous sequence of interpretations of Al-Mahalli. However, there are still differences of opinion regarding the level of work of each of these interpreters.
