A special program will unfold at several sites, which will show the museums from an unexpected side and will become an experimental platform for the interaction of museums and various creative communities.
The central site of the action will be the Museum of Moscow, where from late on the evening until 6 in the morning will take place the multi-genre storytelling “Live in a museum” - musicians, actors, doctors, journalists, rescuers, nurses, drivers will tell their stories about Moscow in several genres: music, theater, cinema motivating performance. As part of the “Marathon of Silent Music” in the courtyard of the museum until 7 am, silent films of the beginning of the 20th century will be shown, including films by students of Dziga Vertov, Yevgeny Bauer and Abram Rom. The shows will be accompanied by performances by experimental musicians, including the Kira Lao project, the Intourist group and Andrey Oid. The evening’s cinema program was developed with the curatorial support of Anton Dolin, the editor-in-chief of Art of Cinema magazine. In the second building of the Museum of Moscow, there will be a premiere of the play Marathon of Stories created specially for The Night at the Museum, which is dedicated to the leading theater directors of today's Moscow.
