About the author:
Stuart Edmund McNair, born on March 8, 1867, in Brighton, Sussex, South England, was raised in Croydon. Son of Lindsay William McNair and Harriet Agnes Turrell. The parents were married in the Anglican church of St. Nicholas, Brighton on June 23, 1864. McNair was baptized as a child in the Anglican Church of Hove, Sussex, on March 20, 1867.
We know of no information about his conversion, but in 1882, still at age 14 in Croydon, he participated in a Bible study taught by the celebrated theologian John Nelson Darby, and was impressed by his spirituality and erudition.

Rare are the Evangelists or Missionaries and still lay preachers who have not benefited from this guide. - Consultation of this book, on a permanent basis, has helped and helped even the most experienced preacher, in the construction of understandable sermons in its sequence.
The message of God comes to the hearer of the sermon with much more clarity and beauty, when there is the coherent line between the OBJECTIVE (Beginning), the ARGUMENTATION (Medium) and the CONCLUSION (The End).
For the greater ease of the preacher, we gathered the four volumes, in which the work was initially published in a single volume, to be consulted at any time with the greatest ease. We have, however, maintained its original sequence, and thus between each of the four parts, has an introduction of the Author, offering in its entirety a comprehensive dissertation on preaching.
We hope that the work, in its new presentation, will please everyone, from Seminarians to Pastors and Missionaries, helping them to penetrate hearts with their messages.

I have read these sketches with real benefit, and I note:

I. That they are the pity of someone immersed in the work, and therefore not of a mere theoretician but of who has the experience of a whole life.

II. That are proven weapons. Lessons that have met needs and produced effects. There is an absence of pedantry and there is a clarity of teaching that emphasizes the value of studies.

III. There are happy definitions and well expressed truths that provoke reflection. One feels the desire, when reading these studies, to experience the use of some of the sketches.

IV. There are no word games or any attempt to produce weird sketches or acrostics. Our brother prefers to go directly to his target without artificial aids.

V. The truths presented are those evidently taught by the Spirit of God in the Scriptures studied. There is nothing fantastic or forced. It is felt that the ambassador is presenting the message of his Master in simplicity and pious sincerity.

I cordially recommend this book to those who work for the Master, and I wish it to be of great use.
