You have in your hands the story For a smile. It's not a story like the others, it's not just for children, but it's designed for all kinds of readers. It is one of the many initiatives undertaken by the Ramassà Sports Association and is part of a much wider partnership project with the Costa Rican Hommes Democratic Foundation.
The AERamassà is not just an amateur football club from Vallès Oriental, founded in 1975, which plays in Lleroña and is made up of a male team that plays Quarta Catalana and a female section that competes in Football 7. In 2014, he started a path that sought to bring his sports and human values ​​beyond his borders. It was proposed to play a game on the African continent, to collaborate with an association that through education and sport improved the lives of some children. Five years ago and five projects that took him to Ethiopia, Benin, Uganda, Cameroon, Madagascar and this year in the Ivory Coast.
What started out as a somewhat eccentric idea was during these years with the collaboration of many anonymous people inside and outside the club and, especially and from the trip to Uganda, with the collaboration of Víctor Ochen, a Ugandan member of the UN AYINET Foundation, who has turned the team into an ambassador of the United Nations.
The story Por un somriure is the third in this tour and gives voice to four of the children with whom the Hommes Foundation for the Ivorian Coast is working, as part of the Children's Smileys Project. A project that seeks the integration of children with disabilities who experience a serious situation of discrimination and inequality in access to education in a context, the Ivory Coast, where conditions are no longer easy for the majority of children
This year, AERamassà has proposed the challenge, called 50 Smiles, to achieve the necessary financial resources to deal with the prostheses and wheelchairs for 50 children and make them available. This way, it is a little more easy to use, day by day, as well as the provision of school and sports equipment that is already common in other projects. The story For a smile seeks to contribute to the collection of all these funds.
Over the course of these five years, after the many rich and intense experiences, the AERamassà has realized that the great ones favored by all these projects are themselves and have lived in their own skin what the Ubuntu philosophy recites: "I am, because we are", "I win, if others win". All in all, he has given his passion for football an importance and an extent that he would never have imagined.
