Moshe Peretz (born May 10, 1983) is an "Oriental" Israeli singer and composer. He also serves as a judge in the first season of X Factor Israel. [1]
Peretz was born and raised in Tiberias. His father was of Moroccan descent and his mother was of Jewish-Iraqi descent. Peretz began singing as a poet in a synagogue in Tiberias at the age of 13 and began to compose songs. At the age of 18, Peretz enlisted in the IDF for compulsory service. During his service, he performed "The Song of Maalot", during the Memorial Day ceremonies, which took place at his base and received positive feedback leading him to a military band. In 2002, he began writing songs in the army. His 2005 album "From Beit El Harumim" ("El Al"), which saw over 10,000 copies in Israel. His 2007 album Esh (Ash) was even more successful at selling 20,000 certified gold copies. Promoted on Israeli radio and special music channels, it sold over 20,000 and was gold-happy, and in 2008 it hit the Israeli single "Elich" which means "You", which was the precursor to the third album to me Yours (to you) who sold over
