History
The city of Tuban has its origins in several versions, first
referred to as Tuban from lakuran watu tiban (stone that falls from

Trans Pacific Petrochemical Indotama (TPPI) & PERTAMINA TTU (at
Jenu sub-district) and in 2010 a Cement Plant was built
Holcim & Steam Power Plant to be built on
Jenu area.
For education Tuban is not inferior to other regions in Java,
there are very few people in Tuban who are even illiterate
just how many percent, for the average education of the community
already reached high school education. High school graduates in Tuban
many have continued their studies at state universities
famous like ITS, UI, UGM, ITB, UNAIR, UNBRAW, UNDIP, IPB,
UPN, UNISMA etc.
