Wisdom of Celebrating the Prophet's Birthday

1. The commemoration of the birthday of the Prophet SAW encourages people to recite shalawat, and shalawat was ordered by Allah Ta'ala, "Indeed, Allah and His angels pray for the Prophet. O you who believe, pray for him and give him peace and blessings." (QS Al-Ahzab: 56).
2. The commemoration of the Prophet's birthday is an expression of joy and pleasure with him. Even unbelievers benefit from that joy (When Tsuwaibah, the slave girl of Abu Lahab, the Prophet's uncle, delivered the happy news about the birth of the Light of the Universe, Abu Lahab also set her free. As a sign of joy. And because of her joy, later in the afterlife ' his torment was lightened every Monday.)
Such is Allah's mercy towards anyone who rejoices at the birth of the Prophet, including even unbelievers. So if Allah blesses even a person who disbelieves because of his joy at the birth of the Prophet, how much more is Allah's grace for his people who believe and are pious.


3. Reaffirm love for the Prophet Muhammad. For a believer, love for Rasulullah SAW. is a necessity, as a consequence of faith. Love for this messenger of Allah must be above everything, more than love for children and wife, love for wealth, position, even love for himself. The Prophet said,

“None of you is perfect in faith until he loves me more than his parents and children. (HR. Bukhari).”

4. Emulate the noble behavior and deeds of the Prophet Muhammad. in every move of our lives. Allah SWT. said:

"Indeed, there is (in) the Messenger of Allah a good role model for you (namely) for those who hope for (the mercy of) Allah and (the coming of) the Day of Judgment and he mentions Allah a lot. (QS. Al-Ahzab: 21)”

We instill the example of this Apostle in our daily lives, from the smallest things, to the biggest, from worldly life, to matters of the afterlife. Also instill the example of this Apostle in our sons and daughters, through bedtime stories for example. So that they do not become worshipers and idols of public figures with corrupt morals that they watch on television shows.

5. Preserving the teachings and mission of the struggle of the Messenger of Allah, and also the Prophets. Shortly before he breathed his last breath, the Apostle left a message to the people he loved so much. He said:

"I leave you two things, you will not go astray with them, namely the Book of Allah and the sunnah of His Prophet sallallahu alaihi wa sallam" (HR. Malik)
