The main idea behind building this app is to help non-native English speaker get acquainted with the most confusing part of the English language that is, phrasal verbs.

Most people often find the phrasal verb part confusing as the phrasal verb consists of a verb and another word which can either be an adverb or a preposition or both. This combination gives it a whole new meaning which is difficult to get at. Let's try to understand it by an example.

Let's take a phrasal verb 'fall for'. The phrasal verb 'fall for' has two different meaning depending on the context in which we have applied it. One meaning is to fall in love and other is be deceived by someone in believing something. If you deduce the individual meaning of the words that is 'fall' and 'for', it is different from the meaning when used them together as a phrasal verb. Some phrasal verb has more than one meaning to it. So, it is the context that defines which appropriate meaning we have to choose from. Therefore, it is the practice in terms of the context that will make you understand phrasal verbs better and you could use it effectively in a day to day conversations and writings.

In the initial release of the app, we have included more than 200 most commonly used phrasal verbs in the English language. However, with every new release of the app, we will try to add more and more phrasal verbs, new features to the app.

How to use the app?

The best way to use the app is by going through each verb and first learning it's related phrasal verb. So you need to first select the verb you would like to study its phrasal verbs. This will take you to a screen where you will see three buttons one in green and the other two in orange colour. To learn the phrasal verbs, click on the first green button named as 'Learn Phrasal Verbs'. This will take you through a series of phrasal verbs. After you learn the verbs thoroughly, come back on the same screen and take the interactive quizzes related to the just learned verbs. Your objective will be to pass the quiz with 100% accuracy. Once you got that you can move to the next verb on the home screen.

The app is designed in such a way that by learning the meaning of the verbs with the given example and then taking the quiz related to it, you will dramatically improve your phrasal verbs knowledge.

We have taken utmost care while designing the app but still there can be some mistakes or issues with the app. So, if you notice any of it then please feel free to write us at advaiteduapps@gmail.com. We would definitely try to fix the issues in our next version release. Also, consider rating the app if you found the app useful for improving your phrasal verbs skills.
