At the 1997 TPI Dangdut Award, he was awarded the Best Dangdut Recording Singer. Through Yarns Blue, over a year later, in 2003, the song became the best in the event Lagu Dangdut TPI Award 1998. In addition to the jury's favorite, this song was a favorite of the fans dangdut homeland.

Although at that time male dangdut singers began to appear, but he is still a favorite. One of them was proven by the success of becoming the Favorite Male Singer through his song, Excuse me at the same event in 2002.

Success in the world of dangdut made the Toothache singer try out the world of roles which ultimately made her enjoy it. His acting debut when starring in the soap opera MOON. In her personal life, Meggy married Zainabun since 1970. From this marriage, they are blessed with 2 children and 3 grandchildren.

Wednesday night, October 21, 2009, Meggy passed away to Rahmatullah. Around 23.30 WIB, Meggy breathed his last breath at Margonda Hospital, Depok accompanied by his wife and children. The plan, the deceased's body will be buried in his residence in Cipayung.
