There are two systems of weights and measures: 1. The Imperial system
2. The Metric system
1) IMPERIAL SYSTEM: An old system of weights and measures based on arbitrary and unrelated units like grains, drachma, ounces and gallons.
2) METRIC SYSTEM: It is used in Indian pharmacopoeia. In this system "Kilogram" and “Liter” is the standard unit for measurement of weight and capacity respectively.
In Latin prescription the quantity was mentioned in imperial system which is not directly weigh able on dispensing balance. Also it is difficult to measure in
