1975–1988: Childhood and early career
Nike Ardilla was born as Raden Rara Nike Ratnadilla Kusnadi in Bandung, West Java, on December 27, 1975, the daughter of the couple R. Eddy Kusnadi and Nining Ningsihrat. [3] Since childhood, Nike has indeed shown interest in the world of singing. Talent singing Nike began to grow since he was 5 years old. The blood of Nike art flowed from his grandfather, who was a keroncong singer. [4] When he was 5 years old, Nike had dared to appear singing when there was a family event at his home. Little Nike is indeed active with art activities. From starting to pull a voice, to dancing the regional dance. His intention to pursue the stage of singing was getting more serious after he succeeded in becoming the First Champion in the TVRI Lagu Pilihanku event and Champion of the HAPMI Bandung Pop Singer Festival in 1985, when he was 10 years old. Nike also regularly participates in various music festivals starting from the sub-district level, school, and has represented West Java province at the national-level Pop Singer Festival. [5]

After winning a number of singing contests, in the year Nike was registered by her mother to the Association of Indonesian Musician Singer Artist (HAPMI) asuhan Djadjat Paramor. Nike then joined the management of Denny Sabri, a famous senior music journalist at that time. Under the management of Denny Sabri, Nike, who at that time was still a Grade 5 student at the Elementary School, was asked to appear on the stages of rock music performances, using the stage name Nike Astrina; this name was given with the aim that Nike would rival Nicky Astria, the famous female skirt singer of the time. Nike was often asked to become the opening performer in a number of concerts of senior singers, including Nicky Astria, Ita Permatasari, and Ikang Fawzi. Because at that time Nike did not have his own song, he usually sang western musician skirt songs, such as "The Final Countdown" (Europe) and "Hongky Tonk Woman" (The Rolling Stones). In 1986, Nike entered the recording kitchen by releasing a single entitled "Forgotten Himself", which was later published on a compilation album titled Bandung Rock Power (1987). In July 1988, when he just graduated from elementary school, Nike finally recorded his first album under the auspices of JK Records, but the album failed to be released because of Nike's age which was still very young at the time, while most of the song lyrics had the theme of romance.
