The Open Source Psych app is the first psychiatry education app for residents by residents. This is a free flashcard and question bank app that functions independently of board and licensing exams. We offer high yield information that can be used to improve your clinical skills and improve your medical knowledge. You even have the ability to create and interact with the content to improve the overall education of the larger psychiatry collective.

For non-Android users, download our Anki deck for the same quality content. https://ankiweb.net/shared/info/1240475332.

Please donate to my patreon (https://www.patreon.com/opensourcepsych?alert=2) to help me make this anki deck and other Open Source Psychiatry projects even better! Your donation will help me continue adding 40-50 cards per month and hire someone for editing. My goal is to have over 2,000 cards, eventually.

This app is ideal for advanced medical/PA/NP students interested in psychiatry, psychiatry residents, attendings looking to keep their skills sharp, and advanced practitioners.

Open Source Psych has 3 primary functions: flashcard based education, a multiple choice question bank, and user-submission of content to improve everyone's psychiatry education.

The flashcard section is divided into 3 major sections meant to improve your psychiatry knowledge at a leisurely pace. These sections are treatments, diagnoses, and advanced topics. The treatments section covers the psychopharmacology of mood, anxiety, psychosis, substance, and insomnia treatment as well as basic general medical conditions. The diagnoses section covers basic DSM criteria, psychopathology, and medical mimics of common psychiatric disorders. Finally, the advanced topics section is still being built, but will include neuroscience, behavioral interventions, psychology, and tips on reading literature.

The Challenges section converts the flashcards into multiple choice questions to test how much you've learned.

You can also create your own flashcards (and share them with the psychiatry collective), favorite flashcards, and flag flashcards you don't agree with. These functions allow you to interact with the subjects and improve the overall quality of the content being provided.

The Open Source Psych app includes:
-Over 550 flashcards covering important topics in psychiatric treatment, psychopharmacology, diagnoses, and medicine.
-A Question bank section with about 100 questions.
-Frequent updates and additions of content.
-Ability to favorite and create your own flashcards.
-Ability to create and interact with content to improve the quality of the app.
-A references section to see all of the resources used to create this app.

The purpose of this app is to improve access to information and education for psychiatry students, residents, attendings, and advanced practitioners. You can aid us in our mission by sharing your created flashcards with the group, rating our app, posting feedback, and sharing this (or our anki deck) with other people who could benefit from it.

If you are interested in helping with or contributing to this project in ways other than submitting your custom flashcards, please email opensourcepsych@gmail.com.
