PrefEdit helps you to view details of the installed applications and edit shared preferences of other apps with basic backup/restore functionality. Shared Preferences is one of the ways that Android applications use to store internal app data like feature flags, user settings. PrefEdit lets you view and edit them. It will:

PrefEdit provides you with a powerful search functionality, which not only lets you search apps from the huge list of apps that are usually present on your device, but also search preferences by its key name or value of a shared preference file of an application, or in all the shared preference files itself. PrefEdit lists all the shared preferences of an app, and lets you edit them. It features a powerful Shared Preference editor that lets you edit existing entries, add your own shared preference entry and even delete the shared preference entries. It features a beautiful UI that shows different visuals for different operations. It supports all the preference types that the Android framework supports (String, Integer, Long, Boolean, Set).

🗄️ BACKUP & RESTORE 🗄️
PrefEdit automatically backs up the original preference file before your changes are saved, and lets you restore them afterwards (in case some mishaps happen, but we are sure that won't happen). It provides 2 methods of restore that covers all the possible use cases.

One of the key purpose of PrefEdit is to let users view and edit shared preferences of other apps, for which it requires extended privileges (root access). PrefEdit does not automatically edit shared preferences by itself and is not responsible for any mishaps caused by editing shared preferences (which is done by the user). Additionally, privacy of user changes and the apps in question is maintained as PrefEdit does not in any way upload them anywhere.


REQUIREMENTS
1. Root access - Root access is necessary to read and edit preference files. Without root access the app cannot work. It is also necessary to launch activities of apps.


IN-APP PURCHASE
Following options are available via in-app purchases:
- Remove Ads - Removes ads completely and permanently from the app.
- Unlock pro features - Unlocks pro features permanently in the app.

NOTICE REGARDING IN-APP PURCHASES
All the in-app purchase items are individual and grant the said functionality. It does not enable or depend upon other in-app purchases. In other words, the "Remove Ads" in-app purchase will only remove ads and not unlock pro features, similarly "Unlock pro features" in-app purchase will only unlock pro features and not remove ads.

Allows an application to collect component usage statistics
Declaring the permission implies intention to use the API and the user of the device can grant permission through the Settings application.
Allows applications to open network sockets.
Allows applications to access information about networks.
Allows using PowerManager WakeLocks to keep processor from sleeping or screen from dimming.
Allows an application to receive the ACTION_BOOT_COMPLETED that is broadcast after the system finishes booting.
