MLTR is a Danish sweet pop / soft rock music group. The music group was founded on March 21, 1988 by singer and keyboardist Jascha Richter (June 24, 1963), drummer Kåre Wanscher (June 14, 1969), guitarist Mikkel Lentz (December 20, 1968) and bassist Søren Madsen (April 23, 1967) . In 2000 Madsen left this music group to develop a solo career, so this music group turned into three personnel.

Michael Learns to Rock or commonly abbreviated as MLTR is a pop or soft rock band from Denmark. MLTR was formed in 1988 when keyboardist Jascha Richter wanted to form a band to sing his songs. He and his high school friend, Kåre Wanscher, finally agreed to form a band. But because it was awkward to play with only two people, they invited Mikkel Lentz and Søren Madsen to join. March 15, 1988, was the first time they played together. They recorded a demo song and sent it at the Rock Grand Prix competition in Aarhus.

The name Michael Learns to Rock is taken from the name Michael Jackson. May 22, 1988, was their first appearance in the competition and they won second place. MLTR went on to play live and in the end they got the opportunity to record their first album, entitled Michael Learns To Rock in 1991. The album was not very successful in America, but was very enthusiastic to listeners in Denmark and several countries in Asia including Indonesia .

MLTR's second album was released in October 1993, Colors which sold more than one million copies. This also became the first opportunity for MLTR to appear in Asia. The third album, Played on Pepper was released in August 1995 which sold more than one million copies. This album is their first album which was recorded and produced by themselves.

In order to perfect their success, MLTR released the album The Greatest Hits under the title Paint My Love in May 1996. The album sold three million copies mainly in Asia. The fourth MLTR album, Nothing to Lose was released in September 1997 which also sold one million copies. After their tour of Africa, MLTR chose to take a break to spend time with family and also to develop their new ideas.

In 2000, Søren Madsen decided to leave the band for solo career. With the remaining three members, they produced a Blue Night album that sold well in Asia. The following year MLTR launched their biography Something You Should Know written by Poul Martin-Bonde. The biography was also translated in English with the title It Never Rains on Bali.

After launching Blue Night, the band chose to vacuum for a while, Jascha Richter developed Planet Blue's solo album project. In 2004, MLTR re-joined and released the album Michael Learns To Rock and was released in Asia with the name Take Me To Your Heart. November 2008, MLTR released their seventh album with the title Eternity under their own MLTR label.

On June 11, 2012, MLTR released its eighth album titled Scandinavia with 11 songs, namely: "Renovate My Life", "Scandinavia", "Hanging On", "Space Commander", "Heaven Is My Alibi", "Icebreaker" , "Shanghaid In Tokyo", "Crazy World", "Make Me Feel", "Any Way You Want It" and "Please Forgive Me".
