In this post, I am going to show you how to install SmartOBUS on Windows PC by using Android App Player such as BlueStacks, LDPlayer, Nox, KOPlayer, ...

Before you start, you will need to download the APK/XAPK installer file, you can find download button on top of this page. Save it to easy-to-find location.

Below you will find a detailed step-by-step guide, but I want to give you a fast overview of how it works. All you need is an emulator that will emulate an Android device on your Windows PC and then you can install applications and use it - you see you're playing it on Android, but this runs not on a smartphone or tablet, it runs on a PC.

Step By Step Guide To Install SmartOBUS using BlueStacks

  1. Download and Install BlueStacks at: https://www.bluestacks.com. The installation procedure is quite simple. After successful installation, open the Bluestacks emulator. It may take some time to load the Bluestacks app initially. Once it is opened, you should be able to see the Home screen of Bluestacks.
  2. Open the APK/XAPK file: Double-click the APK/XAPK file to launch BlueStacks and install the application. If your APK/XAPK file doesn't automatically open BlueStacks, right-click on it and select Open with... Browse to the BlueStacks. You can also drag-and-drop the APK/XAPK file onto the BlueStacks home screen
  3. Once installed, click "SmartOBUS" icon on the home screen to start using, it'll work like a charm :D

[Note 2] about Bluetooth: At the moment, support for Bluetooth is not available on BlueStacks. Hence, apps that require control of Bluetooth may not work on BlueStacks.

How to install SmartOBUS on Windows PC using NoxPlayer

  1. Download & Install NoxPlayer at: https://www.bignox.com. The installation is easy to carry out.
  2. Drag the APK/XAPK file to the NoxPlayer interface and drop it to install
  3. The installation process will take place quickly. After successful installation, you can find "SmartOBUS" on the home screen of NoxPlayer, just click to open it.

This application will be the easiest way to link between parent and school’s bus. Also, it will include some security and assurance requirement.

Bus driver:
The bus driver is the person who is responsible to deliver children from and from school has a partial access to the system. The access will be to the location and students name only.

The bus driver can view today trips by its details (order, children name, location).
The bus driver can start the trip.
The bus driver can end the trip after delivering.
The bus driver can know the next and previous track with the children name.

Parents:
Parents can access the system after the offline registration at the school. The access also will be also partial but with privileges that allows to be notified by system about pick off and drop off time of their children, contact with supervisor, tracking and knows the expected time of arrival.


Parents can set and edit their location in the system.
Parents can know who is the bus driver and the bus supervisor.
Parents can track the bus on the map.
Parents can send and receive notifications.
Parents can send a notification about his children attendance status (absent, delivered lately to the school and wants the bus to take the children home, picked from the school early).
Parents can contact the bus supervisor.
Under one parent ID can be more than one child, and parent can switch between them, so they can see all the above per profile except the pickup location

The system should be available in one app for Android and iOS platforms and web for branch manager and admin panel

Notifications:
There is more than one type of notification will be sent through the system automatic one that will be related to the certain action, and Manuel one the push by admin. Movement notification, that notification will be sent to the parent when the bus started moving to the home. Arrival notification also will send it to the parents before minutes (admin defined) of reach children house. Notification that one from the parent to the bus supervisor allow the parent to inform supervisor when children be absent.

Chatting:
The system allows the parents and bus supervisor to communicate by chatting.

Tracking:
The system allows parents, school branch manager to track the bus.
Fix minor issues.
Allows applications to open network sockets.
Allows applications to access information about networks.
Allows an app to access precise location.
This constant was deprecated in API level 21. No longer enforced.
Allows applications to perform I/O operations over NFC.
Allows using PowerManager WakeLocks to keep processor from sleeping or screen from dimming.
