LactoRun is a tool for calculating the Stable Maximum Lactate Phase in a non-invasive way. By this feature is an essential tool for high performance athletes and coaches. In addition, LactoRun can be used in schools as a teaching tool, as it connects Physical Education with several other disciplines.

-------------------------------------------------- -----------------------------------

** About Interdisciplinarity **

This is the golden word when it comes to using LactoRun as an educational tool.

> Physical Education

The biggest impact of LactoRun is to be a learning tool also thought for Physical Education, an area that lacks these technologies. With the tool the student can enter into the skin of a high-performance athlete and understand how the tests he does on the court connect with the subjects of Chemistry and Biology to explain what Lactate is and how it acts in the body.

Chemistry

First isolated by the Swedish chemist Carl Wilhelm Scheele in 1780 the 2-hydroxypropanoic acid (IUPAC) or Lactic Acid has as its ionized form Lactate which is the main object of study of LactoRun.

Biology

During intensity exercises, such as running, where energy demand is high, glucose is broken and oxidized into pyruvic acid, and lactate is produced through that acid at a much faster rate than ordinary body-process, thereby causing an increase in the body's lactate concentrations. This ensures that energy production is maintained and that the exercise continues.

Mathematics

Because it is a non-invasive method of obtaining the Stable Maximum Lactate Phase, LactoRun uses only the velocity information of the athlete (or student). This requires mathematical formulas that make use of this information. It is clear, therefore, that the knowledge acquired in mathematics can be used as an element of interconnection between the other disciplines mentioned.
