The Assumption Parish of Our Lady was erected on February 13, 1967 by Archbishop Dom Agnelo Cardinal Rossi. That year the first Parish Priest, Fr Celso Morga Narro, Spaniard, who, along with other priests, was residing in Brazil on account of the Spanish Mission that was here.

Seen from Nove de Julho Avenue, the tower of the Assumption of Our Lady Parish stands out among the Jardins buildings, indicating the sky.
It is the highest point of a clearing of approximately 18,000 m², formed by the Assumption College and the Church. The cornerstone was blessed by Archbishop Duarte Learte Leopoldo e Silva on February 6, 1934.

The building was designed by Adolfo Lindenberg, and although construction was completed in 1935, the college's chapel was not erected until 1948. This project of the Chapel (present-day Church) is by architect Benedito Calixto Neto, the same as the one who designed the Basilica. de Aparecida and other churches in the city of São Paulo and the state and is the grandson of the famous painter Benedito Calixto.

Its style is eclectic, predominating Romanesque characteristics, since the church is a replica of the chapel of a 12th century monastery, whose plant was brought by the religious of Val Notre Dame, Belgium.

Of solid and robust appearance, its interior is simple and cozy, softened by the arches and the low irregular granite columns.
