The Federal University of Fronteira Sul (UFFS) - Laranjeiras do Sul Campus is located in the Cantuquiriguaçu Region, a link of 20 municipalities in the Midwest Midwest of Paraná, located in the valleys of the Cantu, Piquiri and Iguaçu rivers. This region has the second lowest Human Development Index (HDI) in the state, justifying the need for free, quality public education in the region.

The Campus offers ten undergraduate courses: Agronomy - line of training in Agroecology, Economic Sciences, Food Engineering, Aquaculture Engineering, Interdisciplinary in Education in the Field - Degree and Interdisciplinary in Education in the Field: Human and Social Sciences - Degree. A Lato-Sensu specialization in Rural Education and two Stricto-Sensu postgraduate courses (master's level) in Agroecology and Sustainable Rural Development and in Food Science and Technology.

Being a public, popular and democratic university, geared to the needs of the mesoregion in which it operates, the courses are integrated in a perspective of sustainable development in the region.

The Campus currently has approximately 931 students enrolled in undergraduate courses, of which 97% come from public schools and 73 students from stricto-sensu postgraduate courses and 38 students from lato-sensu specialization. It has a team of 89 permanent teachers, 60 administrative technicians, 11 substitute teachers and 4 interns. It also has 34 outsourced employees.

In addition to teaching, the University's employees develop research and extension projects in the most varied areas of knowledge, in order to serve the regional community and awaken potential, aiming at development through applied science.
