The Raton Conversions game targets Grade 5 and Grade 6 students and aims to sharpen their understanding of the mechanics of unit length conversion. In a playful and colorful environment, the player is exposed to a simple and effective method which consists in correctly arranging the digits and the decimal point of the number to be converted in a conversion matrix. Students who learn to apply this method to length units can transfer it to other types of units they will see throughout their schooling, both in mathematics and science. At Alloprof, we've always noticed that many students make mistakes because they have less control over unit conversions. This gap follows them until the end of high school where, among other things in science, they regularly have to convert units to solve problems. This capacity is solicited for example when they have to calculate the speed of an object, the force of a pulley or the pressure of a gas.
