Tazkiyatun Nafs Imam Ghazali

ALL praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds. The Essence, to whom we and all of nature is most suitable for prostration. Salawat and salutation may remain devoted to Muhammad, the bearer of the message of Allah, who sacrificed all his time solely to fight in his path.

Also to his family and friends. Allah says:

"As We have sent you the Apostles among you who recite Our verses to you and purify you and teach the Book and wisdom, and teach you what you do not know yet" (al-Baqarah: 151)

"Surely the one who purifies the soul is fortunate and actually he is the person who pollutes it." (Ash-Shams: 9-10)

Reading the above verse, it is clear that purifying the soul is something important in the life of a human being. A clean soul will produce clean behavior too, because it is the soul that determines what is good or bad.

The meaning of tazkiyatun-nafs in the term is purification of the soul from all illnesses and disabilities, realizing various stations to him, and making asthma and shifat as his morality. The soul can become holy if we perform various worship (for example prayer, infaq, fasting, pilgrimage, dhikr, and recitations of the Qur'an) as perfectly as possible and sufficiently.

This book is the essence of al-Ghazali's book Ihya 'Ulumuddin, compiled by Sa'id Hawwa. In his day, al-Ghazali faced a situation of mental poverty from the souls of Islam, so that the publication of this book could contribute thoughts and enthusiasm for all of us to cleanse our souls.

Finally, may Allah bestow our enthusiasm for always advising and striving in the path of Allah with sincerity as the Messenger of Allah and the Companions of the past in fighting for the ultimate truth. Amen
