THE MAGIC OF WOOL

Our wool is from small family farms from villages around Bulgaria. Our sheep spend their days roaming freely in open meadows of the high mountains of Bulgaria consuming a simple mix of fresh mountain air, crystal clear water from natural streams, and a blend of wild grass and fragrant herbs. It is processed in Oeko-Tek Standard 100 certified small family owned mill in Bulgaria and is washed with a GOTS approved washing agent, it is not dyed, bleached or carbonized.

Sustainability
Wool is an all-natural fiber that grows year-round on happy sheep roaming the mountains of Bulgaria. Wool is a renewable fiber as sheep grow a new fleece every year, and it is 100% biodegradable. At the end of its useful life wool fiber will naturally decompose in soil in a few years while enriching it with valuable nutrients.

Naturally Breathable Fabric
Wool is a natural fiber that was build to breathe. It absorbs perspiration by moving it away from the body to evaporate.

Body temperature regulating
Wool fibers can absorb up to 30% of its weight without feeling damp while the outer layer of fibers are water resistant. In this way Wool absorbs perspiration and provides insulation keeping the body cool and dry in the summer and warm and dry in the winter. It naturally regulates body temperature for ultimate comfort.

Naturally soft, elastic, and durable
Wool has a natural elasticity that gives it its signature soft, yet supportive feel. The wool fibers are constructed like soft coils with a natural bounce and can be bent 20,000 times before breaking as compared to 3,200 times for cotton, 1,800 times for silk and 75 times for rayon. Additionally wool fibers can be stretched 25-30% before breaking.

Stain and water resistant
Wool fibers are naturally stain and water resistant. The protective outer layer of the core fiber consist of interconnected protective scales (like roof shingles) that help prevent water and stains from being absorbed.

Dust mite resistant
Wool is less likely to generate static and therefore attracts less dust and lint. It is naturally dust mite resistant since the fibers are moisture wicking and do not retain moisture in their fibers. Dust mites need moist and warm environment to thrive.

Fire resistant
Our wool is not chemically treated and is all natural. It cannot stick to skin or melt. Wool’s natural structure makes it flame resistant. Temperatures need to reach 570-600°C before wool can catch on fire, as compared to 255 degrees Celsius for cotton, 252 to 292°C for polyester, and 160°C to 260°C for nylon.
