Defamation is a trial and a test. Shirk sin is called slander and kufr is also called slander. Allah says in His book: "Fight them, so that there is no more slander." (Al-Baqarah: 193) Namely so that there is no longer shirk and kufr.

In another verse Allah says: "If (Yathrib) is attacked from all directions, then they are asked to apostatize, surely they do it." (Al-Ahzab: 14)

But the term slander is more pronounced for something in the form of reinforcements and trials that often deceive and distort many people from the straight path. While they were unable to overcome it, they finally dissolved with the reinforcements and trials.

That is the trials and disasters that greatly concern the Messenger of Allaah 'alaihi wasallam for his people. In a authentic hadith he said:

"By the end of the Day of Resurrection there will be slanders such as dark pieces of the night. At that time a person believes in the morning and becomes an infidel in the afternoon, believes in the afternoon and becomes an infidel in the morning. He sells his religion with worldly material." (Narrated by Abu Dawud and Ibn Majah)

The meaning is if the slander has befallen someone, he will be deceived and then go astray and deviate from the truth and instructions, he sells his religion with worldly material! We have witnessed slanders like this many of us today. Therefore those who can endure and be patient in dealing with it are only those who are affirmed by God and given him the gift of knowledge and knowledge.
