Field General helps physical teams operate primarily through collaborative maps or “Collaborative Task Mapping” if you want to sound fancy.

What does that mean?

Instead of asking the 3 constant questions of “What should I do?”, “Where should I do it?”, and “Is it done?”, we bring the conversation to the map. For each physical environment, we upload a floorplan and sometimes overlay it onto a map. Management and team members can then pin task lists onto that layout. Instead of calling or messaging, teams in the field simply look on their map to see what needs to be done and where. They then mark that task as in-progress and completed. This allows other team members and managers to understand progress and move onto other tasks with confidence in what to do next.
For very large environments (think festivals, marathons, stadiums, amusement parks, etc.), we overlay those floorplans onto maps. This allows the location of each team member to appear on the floorplan. With this knowledge, team members and managers can route requests in a more efficient manner. Simply tap on a team-member’s beacon and choose whether to call or message them.

When there are questions about tasks, Field General allows for both commenting and general group chat. Task-specific questions can be written directly under the task with a post/comment feel similar to commenting on a Facebook post. More general communication happens in the group chat section (not connected to a particular task).
Our goal is to help your team reduce headaches and wasted time in the field, leading to happier technicians and better execution.
