Veil Law For Women

In Islam, everything done by humans as mukallaf (subject to the burden of law) has rules. Included in the problem of dressing and decorating.

Dressing up to cover the nakedness is an obligation that must be carried out by every individual Muslim or Muslim woman. And of course, between male and female genitalia has their respective limitations.

Muslim men, the minimum limit to cover their nakedness is between the navel and below the knee. This is an area that must be closed. While Muslim women in general the boundaries that do not include genitalia are the face and palms.

In these areas, clothing that covers it must be loose (not showing curves) and not transparent. If that has been fulfilled, then clothing with any model is generally allowed.

Then the next issue is about a woman's face. Jumhur ulama argue that a woman's face and palms are not aurat. But if it is believed to cause slander, then it is better to close.

Then, apart from the difference in the veil laws that have been presented by the scholars, but clearly, the veil is part of the form of clothing that was exemplified by women during the Salaf period.

In dzhahir, this is part of a woman's self-preservation efforts from being "seduced and teased" of the opposite sex because of her beauty.

But that does not mean that the veil is then called a "teaser" woman. Not like that. There are many ways to maintain honor, one of them with a veil.

There are women who are not veiled, but are able and able to behave in the presence of foreign men. Even without a veil, there are thousands of ways to maintain his honor.

Veiled or not, this is a choice. The name is choice, of course there are things already considered. Especially the consideration of circumstances.

There is an Indonesian citizen (WNI) living in Saudi Arabia with his family, children and wife. The wife when in Indonesia was not veiled, but was dressed neatly like a Muslim woman. Nothing is visible except the face and palm hands.

When migrating to Saudi Arabia, the wife was veiled. Not just about the rules that are applied there.

But this is about adjusting the generality of clothing that applies there. Because if the wife is not veiled, especially in a crowded place, surely, the wife will be the center of attention. Because only she's a woman who looks at her face.
