Entering 488 H, Baghdad as a city of Islamic civilization and a destination for students is still flooded with knowledge travelers. The same was done by an eighteen-year-old young man from the Jilan area. At the beginning of the year he came to gain knowledge from Baghdad wells that never dried up.

Although the political atmosphere of Abbasiyah is not stable, but studying is still an activity that is never lonely. Such conditions did not make the Jilan youth discouraged. His enthusiasm actually burned even more. He began his scientific wandering from teacher to teacher. He started first by studying the Qur'an.

1. Born

Eighteen years earlier, the young man was a cute baby who had just been born to a mother named Fatima's daughter from a prominent religious figure in Jilan. Whereas his father's name was Abdullah Abu Shalih who, if drawn his nasab line up, then he was a descendant of Hasan ibn ‘Ali, as written by Ibn Hajar, Ibnul‘ Imad, and As Sya’rani.

2. Studying knowledge

In Baghdad the young man named Abdul Qadir studied with a variety of people. After studying the Qur'an, he learned hanbali fiqh with his professors. Then he listened to the hadith. Studying literature. And after all of that felt ripe, he was solitary, secular, berthariqah under the guidance of a great scholar named Hammad ibn Muslim Ad Dabbas.

3. Teachers
He studied with many Baghdad residents. In the science of hambali fiqh, he studied with Abu Said Al Mubarak ibn ‘Ali Al Mukhrami. This Abu Said madrasa is what will later bequeathed to Sheikh Abdul Qadir. And then popular with the name Madrasa Qadiriyah.

He also studied jurisprudence hanbali to Abul Khattab Al Kalwadzani, one of the students of Al Qadhi Abu Ya'la.

He also studied with a great Baghdad scholar named Abul Wafa Ibnu q Aqil, the writer of Al Funun who was sufficient in knowing the thoughts of the muktazilah. It is even said to have gotten lost in the wilderness of thought of the muktazilah and it was hard to get out. Although finally managed to save themselves.
