Going back to my childhood and observing my mother cook for our family, I began to develop an interest in food/ cooking and so I would help my mother out in the kitchen whenever she would let me.
When I then became a parent first-hand, I was able to past this passion/ experience onto my children. “Daddy’s Kitchen” that is what we used to call it when my children we are growing up. By blending a variety of authentic herbs and spices directly from Grenada (my place of birth); I was able to create three versions of sauces/ marinades that satisfied my families taste buds. Today everyone knows it as Soca Soca Sauce.
The older my children have become and the more and more people I cooked for/ give my products to, to see what they think, the more encouraged I am to try something new and see what I can now make of it.
Now the size of my company I would say is small regarding the amount of company’s we supply with our products. However medium regarding the size of our manufacturing. Our manufacturing site is based in Grenada with a team on site to produce all products. We now supply a handful of restaurants as well as sell via our website www.socasocasauce.com
We are also in the process of trying to sell via Amazon.
We are open to ‘White Labelling’ as we know this is something many supermarkets may prefer to do. We strongly believe in our products and that they will sell and be highly profitable for Sainsbury’s and can only dream that with our foot in the right door, our company can only grow from strength to strength.
Is there a similar product on the market?
I guess you could say Levi Roots gave me the motivation to do something with my mother’s secret recipes.
At Soca Soca Sauce we take pride in the fact that we can actually say we use authentic herbs and spices that have been primarily sourced from the small Caribbean island of Grenada (known as the Isle of Spice) - Most famously known for its production and manufacturing of Nutmeg.
