The FlowCalc app is a flow resistance calculator for water under pressure in PVC & HDPE plastic pipelines. The creator, Incledon is a leading South African supplier of quality fluid conveyance products and solutions and has been operating since 1906. Highly regarded as a pioneer & technical expert in the industry, Incledon has produced multiple hard copy and electronic technical manuals used successfully by its client base over many decades. Converting these manuals to mobile apps is the next step in the evolution of Incledon and the way in which the company supports and adds value to the engineering & built environment.

The FlowCalc app is based on the Colebrook-White formula ( K = 0.003mm) for pipes flowing full with water at 20°C and viscosity of 1.01E-06 m²/s. It is useful in (1) pipe size calculation; (2) water delivery / discharge calculation and (3) friction loss calculation. A useful feature of the FlowCalc app is that results can be sent via e-mail.

A basic knowledge of pipeline design and hydraulics is required, in order to use the FlowCalc app.
