In 1997, the Ministry of Information Technology and Communications MINTIC, granted to the Community Action Board of the Cálamo neighborhood, led at that time by the community leader, ROBERTO MONTIEL OVIEDO, the operating license for a community broadcaster called STEREO CÁLAMO 98.8 FM. In 2006, he changed his business name to LA PREFERIDA 98.8 FM. Since 2016 and now this community process is being led by the MGR. HILDE ALFONSO MORENO HERRERA as manager and Technician in social communication and journalism YHOVANY ANDRÉS VÉLEZ as general manager and a whole team of professionals, who have consolidated a positioning work that currently places LA PREFERIDA 98.8 FM as one of the best stations Community of the country.
