Use this app to calculate your exposures times quickly and efficiently while in the field.

This is not a content rich photography app. It has no bells or whistles. It will not sync with your camera. This app is designed to do one thing and one thing only. Calculate exposure times. Nothing else and no fuss.

Use the top row of buttons to enter your three initial exposure settings: shutter speed, aperture and ISO. This may be a test shot, for example, using a high ISO without any ND filters in order to judge exposure.

Once you're happy with the initial exposure, use the second row of buttons to enter the aperture size and ISO you want to use for your actual shot. If you're attaching an ND filter to increase your exposure times, record the strength of your filter using the nd filter button.

Your required exposure time will be shown in the display. The slowest shutter speed setting on most cameras is 30 seconds. For any exposure times longer than this, where you need to use the Bulb or Time mode, a countdown timer is enabled so you can time your exposure within the app.

You can fine tune the calculated exposure time in 10 second blocks using the compensation buttons on either side of the exposure time display.

The app is designed to give easy access to the most important features required for calculating exposures. A simple, uncluttered interface means you can focus on your camera and the scene you're photographing rather than fiddling around with a confusing app.

For more information, I've written an article about long exposure photography which includes instructions for using the app on a typical shoot.
