Radio São João do Paraná Southwest was officially born on 20 July 1987. Always with the slogan: "CORPORATE COMMUNICATION ELO" the station has become the hallmark of communication in the city of Saint John.

Radio St. John appeared in a period where communication was difficult for a municipality that was beginning its development. The emergence of the station came the need for local people to have a means of communication in which a cultural identity of that was created. Account history that on January 8, 1986 created the society of some businessmen of St. John who headed the Ministry of Communications the application of competition.

On 1 October 1986 a contractual change was made where it took the company one of the entrepreneurs. On July 25, 1986, under the decree number 176, the then Minister of Communications Antonio Carlos Magalhaes granted permission to Radio São João do Paraná Ltda West to explore the Radio Broadcasting Services in Medium Wave. This ordinance was published in the Official Gazette on 27 June 1986. On 11 July 1987 was conducted the survey for the licensing of broadcasting station by Roberto Lang engineer, technical Vinicius Elizio Winkelmam accompanied by the then director (now deceased) Professor Peter Gasparetto.

Finally on July 20, 1987 the station went on the air on a permanent basis. Being kept this direction until June 1, 1998, when the Seleski Communication System, based in Francisco Beltrao acquired the station. Radio St. John follows leaving its legacy of active communication with serious journalism, quality entertainment and dynamism, which turned into one of the main stations of Paraná Southwest.
