The benefits of supplementing with Omega-3 are something extraordinary, but only as long as the relationship between Omega 3 and Omega 6 and 9 is adequate. And the vast majority of Omega 3 supplements do not have the benefits of Omega 3. Each omega-3 capsule does not actually contain only omega-3, they also contain omega 6 and 9.

Before buying the omega 3 supplement we must pay attention to the nutritional information, in order to correctly calculate the ratio of omega-3 and omega-6, this ratio must always be greater than 1, otherwise we will not get the benefits of omega3, because it will be neutralized.

The calculation is done by checking the nutritional information for the total amount of capsules per serving, and the amounts of EPA and DHA per serving.

Now that you know the amount of EPA and DHA per serving, you should subtract the total portion from the sum of EPA and DHA. Doing this you will now charge the total omega-6 and omega-3.

Now it's simple, just make the ratio, dividing the sum of EPA + DHA by the value obtained from the calculation mentioned in item 2. If the result of this division is greater than one, great, it means that you are buying a supplement that contains the omega ratio -3 / omega-6 greater than 1. The greater this ratio, the better, 1 is very little, it means it is neutral, it is not having any benefit. Always look for an omega-3 where this ratio is at least 2, then yes you are really getting a quality supplement. Otherwise, you won't get the benefits advertised in advertisements.

Omega-6 is important, but as long as it is in the proper proportion, supplement manufacturers omit information from omega-6 and omega 9, for obvious reasons.

Remember, some manufacturers use the portion amount in grams and describe the amount of EPA and DHA in milligrams. You need to convert everything to milligram.

To convert from grams to milligrams multiply by 1000. But this problem we have already solved for you. Your App will do it all for you.
