The kardex is a document, card or registry used to maintain control of the merchandise when the inventory permanence method is used, with this registry we can control the entry and exit of merchandise and know the stock of all the items that the company for sale.



There are 3 methods for inventory valuation, which are the following:





YOUR METHODS:

PEPS method


The PEPS method starts with the first units of products that were purchased were those that were first sold. In an inflationary economy this means that the cost of the goods or products sold is determined based on the oldest prices and, consequently, the profits presented are going to be artificially higher, although the unsold inventories are registered, in the balance, at the closest or current prices.


UEPS method

The UEPS method is the inverse of the PEPS method because the latter, contrary to the former, starts from the assumption that the last units to enter are the ones that are sold first and, consequently, the cost of sales will be recorded by the cost prices plus high, thus decreasing the profit and the tax to pay, but undervaluing the monetary amount of the inventories, which will appear valued at the oldest prices.

Weighted Average Method

It is based on the assumption that both the cost of sales and the cost of final inventories should be valued at an average cost, which takes into account the relative weight of the number of units purchased at different prices.
