Is there an easy way to lose weight? Try Restrain and help us find out!

Restrain is an app designed by scientists that may help people lose weight and eat more healthily.

The app is part of a wider research project to test whether different types of ‘brain training’ exercises can help people improve their eating habits.

Scientific research has shown that these exercises might promote healthier eating behaviour and weight loss. Our study will test if this is true, and if so, which exercises work best and who is likely to benefit the most.

The project is the largest of its kind and we want you to be a part of it!

What does it involve?
● Tailor the training to your own habits by selecting foods/drinks in our virtual supermarket
● Play games and answer questionnaires daily, for about 10 minutes
● Record your weight once a week
● The study lasts for a maximum of 12 weeks

Who can take part?
To participate you must:
● Be over 18 years of age
● Have a body mass index of 25 or over (check your BMI here)
● Not have a history of, or a current, diagnosed eating disorder
● Not follow a restrictive diet (e.g. fruitarian, raw vegan)
● Not have additional allergies (we account for egg, milk, wheat, soy, fish, shellfish, peanut and nut allergies only)
● Not be pregnant
