The Point-Sale Terminal app used by the Shoppin' Network to redeem special mobile-only offers and redeeming purchased discounts from local merchants. The Terminal app can process a transaction using one of four modes: 1) manually entering a 3 digit code for each transaction, 2) using a camera as a scanner to read a 15 character QR code, 3) using the Bluetooth LE as a peripheral to accept a 15 character code or 4) accepting a REST API scan from a merchant’s native Point-of-Sale system.

A clerk uses the terminal app to review the presented offer and verify that the merchandise corresponds to the offer. Then the clerk can either accept or reject it. If accepted the shopper is awarded the promised bonus cash.

A clerk also uses the terminal app to review a presented discount that was purchased by the shopper using their bonus cash. The clerk then accepts the discount and applies it against the purchase.

A merchant registers the terminal app by opening the app for the first time and enters their account ID, their contact phone number, the phone number of the store and finally their password. The merchant will have to log into their Shoppin’ Network account to activate the app.

If an active device using the terminal app is lost or stolen the merchant can deactivate it and also delete it from their account.
