is an Indonesian preacher and scholar who frequently reviews various religious issues, especially the study of hadith and Jurisprudence. In addition, he also discussed a lot about nationalism and various current issues which are currently a hot topic among the people. His name is known to the public because of his knowledge and in providing explanations in delivering propaganda broadcasted via Youtube channel.

Ustadz Abdul Somad is currently serving as a lecturer at Sultan Syarif Kasim State Islamic University (UIN Suska) Riau.

His sharp and interesting studies make many people like his tausiah. Smart and straightforward commentary, coupled with expertise in stringing words into a propaganda rhetoric, makes Ustadz Abdul Somad's lecture so easily digested and easily understood by various sections of the community. Many of Ustadz Abdul Somad's lectures discussed various religious issues. And not only that, Ustadz Abdul Somad's lecture also discussed a lot about the latest problems, nationalism and various issues that were being hotly discussed in the community.

Since elementary school he was educated through schools based on the Qur'an Koran. Graduated from Al-Washliyah Elementary School in Medan in 1990, he continued his education at MTS Mu’allimin al-Washliyah Medan. After graduating in 1993, he continued his education at the Darularafah Deliserdang Islamic Boarding School in North Sumatra for one year. Then in 1994, he moved to Riau to continue his education at Madrasah Aliyah Nurul Falah, Air Molek, Indragiri Hulu and completed it in 1996. In 1996-1998 he studied at UIN SUSKA Riau.

In 1998, he was one of 100 people who received a scholarship opened by the Egyptian Government for Indonesians studying at Al-Azhar University, beating the 900 others who took the test to get the scholarship. Abdul Somad obtained his Lc degree within three years and 10 months.

Then in 2004, the kingdom of Morocco provided 15 scholarships for postgraduate education at the Dar Al-Hadis Al-Hassania Institute which annually only received 20 students with details of 15 Moroccans and five foreigners. Abdul Somad was chosen to enter the 5 foreigners' quota through the S2 scholarship which he completed in one year and 11 months.
