"I read too" is the application for boys and girls with Down syndrome, autism or other types of intellectual disability to learn to read.

The application "I read too" is specially designed to adapt to the needs of children with intellectual disabilities in order to enhance their abilities.


METHOD
The application is based on the global reading method. The global reading method is based on the global perception of the word accompanied by an image that shows its meaning. It starts with the larger units, phrases and complete words associated with a visual concept and continues with the decoding of these larger units into smaller units such as syllables and finally letters.
This method is the most “natural” according to experts, for this reason it is ideal for the smallest children, under 6 years of age.

Children with Down syndrome, autism, or other types of intellectual disability do not understand abstract concepts, such as letters i / or syllables. For this reason and because of their developed visual memory, the global reading method is perfect for them.

The application has been developed under the pedagogical supervision of Fundación Talita, specialists in the teaching of literacy to boys and girls with Down syndrome. At Fundación Talita they have applied the global reading method successfully for years.
