With our always online culture of smart phones and the Internet of Things, we are logging information in just about every system that we touch. The term for this new world of infinite information is big data.
The challenge no longer lies in how to produce data, it rests in how to understand it. In the world of automation there have traditionally been islands of data. By intelligently coupling some or all of that data in meaningful ways we can gain valuable insight into process systems that was never before possible. At Suez, we have listened to the needs of industry and have taken the time to develop a powerful tool called eRIS that can help unlock your big data.
Work with all your data in real-time. With eRIS, you no longer have to analyze your data within the limited silos of individual systems. It can now be brought together into one meaningful format that allows for the visualization and understanding of your important data. Input from different areas of your enterprise and from different systems can be easily combined into a single report, table, or chart. All this is done without copying your data or implementing a complex and expensive centralized data warehouse. Also, since the connections to your data are direct, near real-time data is available for reporting and analysis. Users are no longer limited to a subset of summary or daily values, but instead have access to all data from the source systems. eRIS can even connect to legacy or out-of-production systems making the data within these applications valuable without a costly data migration into a new system.
eRIS enterprise edition allows you to view and manage data from all your enterprise systems including Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS), Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS), asset management systems, customer billing, and many others. All this data can be enhanced by supplementing it with manually entered and calculated data to produce detailed reports, dashboards, KPIs, or exported into other formats like Excel or Comma Separated Values (CSV).
eRIS functionality is driven by our Partners, for our Partners. The Partner program provides an organization with exceptional value and many benefits when using eRIS. Partners are also involved in setting the course of the software. When we collaborate with our Partners, new functionality and modules are continually being added that extend the functionality of eRIS beyond reporting. Recent examples of added functionality include SCADA Alarm Triggered Workflows, Data Validation Workflow, and Electronic Operator Log Books. In addition to these new tools, Suez also introduced eRIS Web Data where publically available data sources (for example, weather and forecast data, electricity rates, environmental data, and more) is collected from internet sources and made available to eRIS Web Data subscribers. Partners access these new sources of information within eRIS, allowing for easy incorporation into reports, data analysis, or calculations.
eRIS is built on industry-standard architecture and is browser based. This removes the need to install software on all your organization’s computers while allowing remote users to connect to critical information via their favourite mobile devices. It also means overhead and start-up costs remain low.
