In this post, I am going to show you how to install FingerSCAN DecedentID on Windows PC by using Android App Player such as BlueStacks, LDPlayer, Nox, KOPlayer, ...

Before you start, you will need to download the APK/XAPK installer file, you can find download button on top of this page. Save it to easy-to-find location.

Below you will find a detailed step-by-step guide, but I want to give you a fast overview of how it works. All you need is an emulator that will emulate an Android device on your Windows PC and then you can install applications and use it - you see you're playing it on Android, but this runs not on a smartphone or tablet, it runs on a PC.

Step By Step Guide To Install FingerSCAN DecedentID using BlueStacks

  1. Download and Install BlueStacks at: https://www.bluestacks.com. The installation procedure is quite simple. After successful installation, open the Bluestacks emulator. It may take some time to load the Bluestacks app initially. Once it is opened, you should be able to see the Home screen of Bluestacks.
  2. Open the APK/XAPK file: Double-click the APK/XAPK file to launch BlueStacks and install the application. If your APK/XAPK file doesn't automatically open BlueStacks, right-click on it and select Open with... Browse to the BlueStacks. You can also drag-and-drop the APK/XAPK file onto the BlueStacks home screen
  3. Once installed, click "FingerSCAN DecedentID" icon on the home screen to start using, it'll work like a charm :D

FingerSCAN DecedentID is the World's First Android application that enables death investigators (coroners, medical examiners, forensic investigators, etc.) to easily capture digital fingerprint images from decedents in the lab, morgue or in the field.

FingerSCAN DecedentID works with the Integrated Biometrics Watson Mini FBI certified fingerprint scanner to automatically generate an electronic decedent fingerprint card that may be shared with the local identification unit and/or imported into a case management system for reporting purposes.

FingerSCAN DecedentID captures demographics, electronic signatures, and slap/rolled fingerprint images. There is no messy ink and no cutting and pasting of images. Record creation and sharing is easy, making it faster to process a record and identify an unknown decedent. Sharing is possible via email, SFTP and USB file upload.

Fingerprint image capture is possible for many, but not all, decedent conditions. Typically, you will not be able to capture images in de-gloved and mummified conditions, but you will be able to capture images from other types of finger conditions.

FingerSCAN DecedentID runs on most Android devices, but not all. Performance may vary and depends on processor and device's ability to power the fingerprint scanner.

The free download enables you to enter demographic information only until you have purchased the Watson Mini fingerprint scanner. Fulcrum Biometrics sells the scanner as well as device and scanner bundles. Don't download this app until you have this scanner, because there is restricted use for 3 days. Extended use is for users with a valid business account and license.
