According to the Bible, was Adam created by the Most High of clay "in the image and likeness"? But this option suits only believers, and even then not all of them. The rest prefer to believe that people descended from monkeys. But here, it turns out, not everything is smooth ...
Firstly, it is not clear why the monkeys suddenly decided to turn into humans? Moreover, according to genetic analysis, monkeys are very distant relatives to us ..
After scientists solemnly announced in February 2001 that the human genome had been deciphered, it turned out that the genome had not 100–140 thousand genes, as scientists had suggested, but only 30–35 thousand. Of course, this is more than, say, a fruit fly (13 601) or a roundworm (19 098), but still what a painful fall from the top of the genetic Tree of Life!
Moreover, our genes are comparable to chimpanzee genes not by 95%, as previously thought, but by more than 99% and 70% with genes of some kind, you see, mice. But that is not all.
It has been proven that human genes are identical to the genes of not only other vertebrates such as chimpanzees or mice, but also invertebrates, plants, mold, even yeast. This discovery made it possible to trace the entire evolutionary process. But here, on the steps of the evolutionary ladder, one strange inconsistency was discovered: several important crossbars were missing! The human genome, as it turned out, contains 223 genes that are not even in the invertebrate phase of the evolutionary path! They were not at the bottom, they did not go from step to step, and then suddenly - once! - appeared at the very top of the evolutionary ladder.
How could a person get so many mysterious genes?
Scientists, once again scratching their heads, thoughtfully stated that a person "imported" them from ... bacteria, and not so long ago (in the sense of the evolutionary time scale) and not horizontally, from the Tree of Life, but horizontally, from the side, so to speak. And what else can you think of if there are none below: there is a genetic gap gaping?
However, is it worth arguing about such trifles? Just think, there are some 223 genes out of tens of thousands ... This is a mere trifle! But it seems only at first glance. In fact, 223 genes are more than two-thirds of the difference between humans and chimpanzees!
Is such a colossal superiority of man over other species was obtained due to the "courtesy" of infectious bacteria? Fortunately, not everyone thinks so. "This is a leap that does not fit into modern evolutionary theories," said Stephen Scherer, director of the Center for Human Genome Mapping at Baylor College of Medicine. "We did not find a clear source of bacteria for the alleged horizontal gene transfer," the geneticists report in the journal Natural noted.
And then, where does such confidence come from that we "picked up" genes from bacteria? Or maybe they are from us? "It’s not clear whether genes have been transferred from bacteria to humans or from humans to bacteria," Science writes, citing Robert Waterson, co-director of the Washington Group Center for the Decoding of the Human Genome. But if a man gave these genes to bacteria, where did he get them from? The bewitched circle, and only ...
And here Zakaria Sitchin suggested his own way out of this circle. In April 2001, the Cosmivers edition of ufologists published his article, The Case of the Alien Genes of Adam. In it, the researcher claims that man in his current form was created by genetic engineering. And he believes that there is plenty of evidence. Say, in the Old Testament echoes of the version about visiting the Earth by ancient astronauts, which people mistook for space gods, are preserved. Moreover, the oldest of such evidence is not even biblical legends about the origin of Adam. The Bible only gives a retelling of the much older Sumerian and Akkadian texts that were once written on clay tablets.
